DESCRIPTION:One of our Year 5 pupils has won a competition held by Voel Coaches Ltd as part of their 70th Birthday celebrations. The prize is a free trip for the whole year group and we will be visiting the Manchester Museum for Science and Industry. Although this is an unscheduled school trip it will still be of educational interest around the history of science and industry and we are sure the children will benefit greatly from the visit as well as enjoy a day out of the classroom.

DESCRIPTION:If your child has their own scooter please could they bring them into school for the sessions.  We will encourage the children to share scooters so that those who do not have access to a scooter or who are unable to bring them to school on the day are included in the sessions.  It is also important that every child brings a safety helmet so they can take part. \nThe sessions will be run by Gwen Thomas\, Sustrans’ school officer. The children will practise their balancing\, stopping and general scooter handling skills to help them develop into more confident and safer scooter users.

SUMMARY:Class 5J visit to Wrexham Racecourse FC
DESCRIPTION:Class 5J have the opportunity to visit the Racecourse Stadium\, home of Wrexham FC today as part of the Premier League Primary Stars initiative we are participating in. \nThey have been focusing on developing their literacy skills during the class based sessions.  The aim of these sessions is focused on developing literacy through the theme of Journalism is Sports.  The pupils worked in groups to collate a journalism project\, based on a football match.  The purpose of the visit to the Racecourse is to allow the pupils to use the media facilities at the football club to deliver their presentations.  This is a fantastic and exciting cross curricular learning opportunity for the children. The visit will also include a full stadium tour and a session with the First Team Squad players from Wrexham FC.
