Mrs Helen Wardell’s funeral will be held on Thursday 9th October at 11:30am.

Helen made an impact on everyone she met and the loss of a dear friend and colleague has been traumatic for our staff who have all expressed a desire to attend her funeral. The timing affects the whole school day so in order for us to accommodate this for our staff the Governing Body, having taken advice from the Education Department, have agreed to close the school for the day.

We haven’t taken this decision lightly and understand the disruption it may cause to yourselves but we feel this is the right decision in what are exceptional circumstances.

To negate the impact for yourselves and your children we will reinstate this teaching day by the removal of the Staff Training Day on Monday 5^th January 2026.  This means the children will return to school after Christmas on Monday 5^th January 2026.
