Attending school regularly and punctually is very important and lessons begin promptly each morning.
Doors are opened from 8.45 a.m. and pupils are encouraged to take to their seats and start working quietly on their registration tasks once in class.
School start times:
- 9.00 am for Foundation Phase – Nursery – Year 2
- 8.55 am for Year 3 – Year 6
If your child has not reached school by the start time he or she will be marked as absent in the register and the school doors will be locked.
Pupils arriving after the start of the school day should enter the building via the office entrance and report to the Attendance Clerk with the reason for lateness.
If your child is unavoidably absent from school because of illness, injury or perhaps a significant religious occurrence, please telephone, Mrs Grimwood, our Attendance Clerk to inform us. Mrs Grimwood is available to take your calls on 01745 852757 from 8.00am each day.
Once all of the attendance and absences have been input we will contact everyone who remains absent with no reason given.
Holiday requests are no longer available due to a change in guidelines from the Welsh Government. If you take your child out of school for a holiday please inform us before you go so that we don’t try to phone you whilst you are away. Any holidays taken by pupils from Year 1 and above will be marked as unauthorised absences and may attract a charged after the tenth day of absence.
For further information please refer to www.denbighshire.gov.uk/en/resident/education/attendance.aspx
All unexplained absences will be recorded as unauthorised.
