Welcome to Year 5/Blwyddyn 5
Mr Winn and Mrs Roberts welcome you to the Year 5 page on our school website!
Each half term we will be sharing news, photographs, special events and achievements as well as providing information on the work planned for each half term.
Spring Term 2018
This term our topic was Monsters and Aliens as we were looking at Space and myths and legends
Our class novel was Shadow of he Minotaur by Alan Gibbons. All of our World Book Day activities in March were based upon it.
Forty pupils went on a residential visit to Plas Menai in March and had an extremely cold but exciting time.
We had a creative week in March. We made model aliens from clay, which we painted and we also designed and made moon buggies.
Autumn Term 2017
This term we studied The Victorians. Our class novel was Street Child by Berlie Doherty.
On Tuesday 24th October we had a wonderful day out at Greenfield Heritage Valley where our children dressed up in Victorian clothing and went back to school as it would have been in the 1880s.
Year 5 led the Key Stage 2 Harvest Festival Service on Monday 9th October. We explained the origins of the service in Cornwall and then looked at how Christian Aid is helping children to cultivate food around the world.
At Christmas we decorated our classroom with a giant paperchain.

CHRISTMAS FAIR – Friday 4th December 2015

If you would like to help, please begin to send your donations to school so that we can be sure there are enough items to create the Year 5 Christmas Stall.
Also, if you feel you will be able to help in any way – this could be during the term to help keep things in order, during the afternoon of the Christmas Fair to help set up the stalls or at the Fair itself to help run the stall – please contact the PTA so they can contact you to arrange the times and days you will be able to help. Any help is always really appreciated.
